Post Graduate Diploma in Business Computing (level 7)

The Association of Business Practitioners (ABP) has worked with expert practitioners to develop the Level 7 (Postgraduate) Diploma in Business Computing to explore computing issues from an international and global perspective. The Diploma is Ofqual-regulated through our partnership with Association of Business Executives (ABE).

This programme is particularly designed for learners who wish to explore Business Computing within a global business context and welcome learners with Bachelor degrees in disciplines other than I.T. or Development.

Awarding Body

The Association of Business Executives working in partnership with the Association of Business Practitioners

Course Structure

The Level 7 (Postgraduate) Diploma in Business Computing is offered as a three module qualification with the following structure:

  • Internet Technology Strategy
  • Internet System Development
  • Professional Issues in IT

Assessment

Assessment is encouraged throughout the programme utilising variable and creative assessment tools with minimal reliance on formal examinations.

Entry requirement

ABP does not specify the entry requirements of its qualifications but has confidence in centres to recruit students that have the potential to achieve the standards required of the qualification. It expects all centres to recruit with integrity and consistency to ensure fairness of access & ability to all students.

We take appropriate steps to assess each applicant's potential and make a professional judgement about their ability to successfully complete the programme of study and achieve the qualification. This assessment will need to take account of the support available to the learner within the centre during their programme of study.

Students do not need to progress sequentially through the levels. Therefore a candidate who has achieved a level 5 qualification may be able to achieve the academic rigour and complexity, required of Level 7 Diplomas accessed through ABP.

ABP does not specify that candidates must have an English Language qualification equivalent to IELTS 6.0-6.5. However many UK universities will require applications for their Masters and MBAs to have achieved an English language qualification at this level prior to commencing the Masters/MBA. Therefore, we would encourage all candidates wishing to progress to a UK university to be working towards an English language qualification equivalent to IELTS 6.0-6.5.
